Company History

The first few words he said to me were descriptive and loud. I was speaking to an engineer that I had placed on a job that was not as advertised. I was working for one of those direct placement companies that charges astronomical fees to the worker for job placement because I didn't know any better. Back then, I was unaware of the abuses mariners endured at the hands of recruiters. But, instead of hanging up, I listened and I learned. I found out that vessel owners were in a no-win position with few choices for quality crew. A constant tug or war had developed between vessel owner and their personnel. Trust was almost as rare as truth.

?I would like to say I had an epiphany, but the reality is it took many years to develop a model that was based on ideals. What if a company was not based on never-ending growth? What if a business was structured benefit everyone involved instead of just the owner? Honesty was paramount? and everything we did was transparent?

At some point my life had, well become a train-wreck. That was my life. I was in recovery from an addiction, fresh off a new divorce without a job or a place to stay with a 12 year old son and a new Parkinson's diagnosis. I used what little money we had to form an LLC. I experimented with an idealistic business model... and, I 'got schooled' in business as they say. A dose of reality was added to provide balance and protection, and 32 Points Manning was born. We slowly increased revenue every single year since, including the pandemic. And the Chief that gave the unfiltered advice almost two decades ago? He's working with 32 Points Manning now.

We are simply building solid relationships. Business is an opportunity for connection. When you look at business partners and the maritime workers that we get to know as lifetime commitments instead of a source of money, as a person you will have to look in the eye long after you finish the contract and the chips have fallen, it creates a different atmosphere. It may never be perfect, but we are striving for it.

We offer staffing, direct placement, and hybrid options for vessel crew, shoreside, and shipyard personnel along with operational abilities. Premium Service without premium cost.

Benefits

Our Benefits Package, so far is through Benefits Airship. We intend on adding options from BC/BS, Cigna, and others. The idea is to give maritime workers in the USA piecemeal options with low costs all the way to PPO's. It's the least we can do when after 250 years as a nation we STILL do not have a solid healthcare system for our maritime community or America for that matter.

When we offer Direct Placement, the mariners gain access to the full benefits of the client company. When we offer staffing commercial and on government contracts, (permanent or long term) we have a comprehensive benefits package that is among the very best in the business to include fringe benefits. When we have short duration staffing contracts, giving the mariner a chance to 1099 independent contract, there are no benefits as all monies are allocated into the hourly or day rate. The point is this: We are extremely fair to everyone involved. We don't corner boat companies with markups or outrageous rates. We don't hide profits by underpaying mariners. Our recruiters have an extremely generous payout structure and a vested interest in the company. This keeps us honest as we see a vision in which all can prosper.
