Overview: Join our dynamic team at a small, specialized firm focusing on marine project engineering and construction oversight. We’re looking for an entry level or new/recent graduate of a related Naval/Marine, Mechanical, Systems or Civil engineering program to learn the ropes in a hands-on role with fantastic growth opportunities. Alternatively, applicants with related work experience may be considered for this position. Initial project duration is 12 months with opportunity to continue with CoastWise on future projects.
Responsibilities:
Attend callouts with shipyard quality assurance personnel (inspections)
Resolve engineering design conflicts with shipyard engineering personnel
Daily reporting on construction activities & milestones to owner & project stakeholders
Identify & document quality deficiencies for communication & tracking
Participate in regular shipyard project management update meetings
50-75% Site attendance is required.
All travel expenses reimbursed. Relocation stipend/reimbursement will be considered for candidates who would prefer to relocate near project site.
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, systems engineering, naval architecture, or related discipline (alternatively, relevant work experience may be considered).
Prior experience working in Shipyards is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office is required. AutoCAD and MS Project is a plus.
Physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, including climbing ladders, entering in tight spaces, working at heights, working in hot climate.
Available to work Monday thru Saturday; Approximately 50 hours per week
