JOB SUMMARY: Garden State Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a full-time Wet Chemistry Supervisor who will report to the Inorganics Laboratory Manager located in the Hillside, NJ office. The Wet Chemistry Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of laboratory as determined by management. This job will be different from one day to the next as work-flow dictates. Work will include all aspects of laboratory operation from researching new methods, preparing SOPS, ordering supplies, preparing laboratory documentation records, assisting in analysis of select procedures and reviewing completed results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinating laboratory analyses.
- Supervising in-house chain-of-custody.
- Scheduling sample analyses.
- Overseeing data review.
- Overseeing preparation of analytical reports.
- Approving final analytical reports prior to submission.
- Performing an Annual Management System Review.
- Certifying personnel with appropriate educational and/or technical background perform all tests for which the laboratory is accredited.
- Monitoring standards of performance in quality control and quality assurance.
- Monitoring the validity of the analyses performed and data generated in the laboratory to assure reliable data.
- Ensuring that enough qualified personnel are employed to perform the work of the laboratory.
- Performing a final review of all analytical results before they are released for printing.
- Training newly employed personnel to perform the assigned duties.
- Generating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for his/her department
- Updating the SOPs when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- BA/BS Degree in chemical, physical, biological, or environmental science from an accredited institution with at least sixteen credits in Chemistry.
- Have at least one year of laboratory experience in the chemical analysis of drinking water, non-potable water, solid and chemical materials, air and/or emissions, or biological tissue samples.
